Adrevex, a B2B marketplace for storefront window advertising. 2021 to 2022

A marketplace where shops rent out their windows as ad space

Adrevex puts businesses with storefront windows in touch with businesses that want to advertise in them. I built phase 1 in Laravel 8. Sellers draw their shop front to scale and price each window by the month. Buyers find a shop, pick windows on its drawing and send a request, and once the seller approves, the rent becomes a monthly Stripe subscription.

What the marketplace offers

Who it is for

Shop windows, rented out as ad space

Adrevex is for two kinds of business. One has a storefront with window space to spare. The other wants a poster where people walk past. The shop lists its windows, and the advertiser rents them by the month.

A business can be both. One sign-up form creates the person and their business together, and a link in the sidebar switches between the Buyer and Seller dashboards.

For sellers

Draw the shop front, then price each window

Sellers build each storefront on a canvas by dragging window and mullion blocks into place. Sizes are typed in inches and drawn at 5 pixels to the inch, so the drawing keeps the shape of the real glass. Each window gets a monthly price, and a table under the canvas lists every window and its price as they change.

Saving sends the layout as JSON. The server compares it with the saved one: it updates the pieces that are still there, adds new ones and deletes any that were taken away. Storefronts can be edited or deleted later.

For buyers

Search for a business, see its storefronts

Buyers search other businesses by store name from the bar at the top of the dashboard. Results come five to a page and never include the buyer’s own business.

Opening a business lists its storefronts, and each one opens as a drawing of its windows.

For buyers

Pick windows on the drawing

The buyer sees the seller’s storefront drawn by the builder’s own code, in read-only mode. Ticking a window outlines it on the drawing and adds its price to a running total, and the Submit contract request button turns on once a window is picked.

A request is a 30-day contract with one line for each window. Each line keeps the window’s price from the moment of the request, so if the seller changes a price later, contracts already made stay as they were.

For both sides

Approve, pay monthly, manage

The seller approves the request from their Requests list. The buyer then pays: the app adds up the window prices, creates a monthly Stripe price for that contract and sends the buyer to Stripe Checkout to start the subscription.

The Manage contract page reads the live subscription and shows the monthly price, the current billing period and its status. An auto-renew switch stops renewal at the end of the period, and the buyer can also cancel the contract outright.
